Avi Rapppoport

Location: California | SF Bay Area | USA
Speaking Topics: enterprise search | intranet search | site search
Spoken Languages: English

My approach to search tools (and all technology) is user-centered: how can this search engine give people more of what they need, faster and easier?

I can explain how all the elements of the search engines work: gathering, indexing, access control and security, query parsing, retrieval (finding match pages), relevance ranking, user interface and experience, and search log analysis. That is my seven-hour workshop - I can talk about various aspects of these topics in one to two hour presentations.
