Since 2001, Ruthe Farmer has focused her efforts on increasing girls’ participation in STEM disciplines. She recently completed an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship & Marketing at the University of Oxford and is working on program initiatives, strategic planning and fund development at NCWIT.

Noirin Shirley

Noirin Shirley is a jack of all trades, and a master of several. A technical writer by day, Noirin started working on documentation for the Apache httpd project while at university, and finding she still had time on her hands, trained as an ambulance attendant with the St John Ambulance Brigade. She helps organise the Apache Software Foundation's bi-annual conference, ApacheCon, and is actively involved in Open Source efforts around the world! She is a founder member of Digital Rights Ireland, and a Director of her local branch of the System Administrators' Guild.

Kirrily Robert

Kirrily Robert has been involved in open source software since 1993, as a Linux user, Perl developer, and community leader and advocate. She is best known for her work in the Perl community, where she has been a CPAN contributor, author, speaker, and trainer.

I work as a system administrator for Norid, the .no domain registry. I have previously worked as a system administrator for a university and a consulting company for 8 year, before that I worked part-time while studying.
I have a MS degree in Informatics, my thesis was about Women in Open Source.

My professional interests include DNS and name server infrastructure, Linux, Unix and system administration. I also have an interest in women in open source and in IT in general, and has worked to increase the number for female applicants and students while I was at university.
